Recently, Velobotics' technical team, in collaboration with partners, successfully completed the first extreme test of its unmanned driving system in a plateau environment in the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, where the average altitude exceeds 5,000 meters. This test not only overcame multiple challenges posed by the plateau's complex terrain and extreme temperature differences to the perception, decision-making, and control modules of the unmanned system, but also filled the key technical gap in China's unmanned driving technology for applications in high-altitude extreme scenarios. It has laid a solid technical foundation for the subsequent implementation of this technology in special scenarios such as plateau scientific research, emergency rescue, and special transportation, marking an important step forward in promoting the breakthrough of unmanned driving from "conventional scenarios" to "extreme scenarios".
